Taking inspiration from South African acappella legends Ladysmith Black Mambazo, this all female group of singers are simply a joy to behold. Delivering all the verve and buoyancy that their country's music possesses, they succeed in establishing themselves as much more than just a female version of their male counterparts and, under the watchful eye of band leader Ntombifuthi Lushaba, the group expertly deliver intricate harmonies, rhythms and solo lines on a collection of mainly indigenous language songs. Interestingly, there are elements of doo wop and old style gospel respectively in the likes of "Nontsokolo" and a version of the spiritual "Robe And Crown" which highlights both the fact that American group vocal music has its roots in Africa as well as the versatility of this talented seven piece.
