It's not an original idea is it? Taking old hymns and giving them a modern spin by updating them musically but that's what this enigmatically named Australian has done. It's all done in a nice fashion and of course it's all well intentioned and well played and Al has a pleasant voice and everything but it just leaves me a little cold. Hymns like "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" and even the Catholic "I'll Sing A Hymn To Mary" come and go and it's all well and good. Can't fault the musicianship or production and it's all very nice but that's about it.
