The sound of this recording is unmistakeably 'Albert Hall', as the live recording of the spring 2008 Prom Praise concert undoubtedly does justice to the flavour and atmosphere of this evening. The event is led by those seasoned practitioners of classical-tinged worship the All Souls Orchestra while the Massed Prom Praise Choir and two special guests, Ireland's hugely popular Irish Hymns duo Keith and Kristyn Getty, give the latest Prom Praise added sales potential. Two discs, 25 tracks and close on two hours of music is what you get for your money and the performances, presentation and production is exactly as you would expect - apparently faultless. The variety of music on offer covers a spectrum that runs from out-and-out worship song ("In Christ Alone", "Blessing And Honour" and "There Is A Higher Throne" amongst others) through excerpts from West Side Story to elements of a classical repertoire ("Tarantella"). Plus the talk delivered by Hugh Palmer (Rector of All Souls) is unexpectedly belligerent. So if you enjoy a bit of symphonic bombast sit back, put on a decent set of headphones, close your eyes and you'll believe you are there. . .
