Following on from their 2013 festive release 'Be The Light', singer/songwriters David and Yvonne Lyon and their fellow Scots Steph Macleod and Allan McKinlay have once again offered up an accomplished set of Christmas songs in aid of Christian charity Tearfund. As with its predecessor, there is a delightful blend of re-interpreted classics and original material with the likes of Yvonne Lyon's stunning take on "See Amid The Winter's Snow" sitting naturally beside equally great new numbers "Hold Me Christmas" and "Emmanuel Has Come" - both of which contain songwriting input from husband David and subtly bring the real reason for the season into focus. Elsewhere, Steph McLeod turns in a stripped-back and delightfully moody rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" whilst Allan McKinlay provides some upbeat moments in the Bo Diddley-tinged "Angels From The Realms Of Glory" and a thumping version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" to make this a striking yuletide collection.
