Mexican percussionist/drummer Alvaro Lopez was at the height of a mainstream music career but was being destroyed by his rock'n'roll lifestyle and then Jesus came into his life. Freedom and a fresh desire to make music that affected people's spirits sees him teaming with a pile of great players to record his first English language album. Contributions from Abraham Laboriel, the Tower Of Power horns and Justo Almario take this beyond pure Latin usic into a fusion of Latin and jazz which is compelling. From the opening driving groove of "Life Is Short" through the more straightforward jazz tracks like "In Your Love" and "Your Love Fills Me" (which sounds more like something Koinonia would do) and the funkier "Lift Me Up" and "Res-Q Interlude", this album has all bases covered.
