I'm not a great lover of gospel music but this album has gone pretty close to making me a convert. My guess is that if you do like gospel, then you'll love this. It rocks, it rolls, it slides, it punches, it lifts... what can I say? I've got it playing as I write, and it just makes me feeeel gooood to hear it! Alvin's vocal is strong and clear, the band are tight, and the choir... well, they're a gospel choir. There's a variety of styles... The funky "Allelujah Praise Jehova", that had me dancing around the kitchen; the simplicity of "He's Already Provided" with a melody that sent shivers down my spine; the traditional hymn "I Need Thee O I Need Thee", beautifully sung by the choir. To some it may sound a bit dated, but if you like gospel I think you'll love this.
