Bagpipe renditions of old hymns produced by Andy Green and Chris Norton. Unfortunately, it seldom moves beyond the feel of production-line music. Every tune seems to start with the drone of the pipes and you're off again. This would be okay if it was the real article - maybe some marching drums and perhaps an army band arrangement but here we have too much programming - too many sampled string pads and you're left feeling that the traditional feel of the pipes doesn't sit well on a Protools timeline. One redeeming feature is that they tend not to overplay each piece - you don't get bored by repetition. The opener "Amazing Grace" is the strong track. But really lovers of bagpipes can find much better albums than this.
