Big band praise, jazz praise, Celtic praise, choral praise, orchestral praise, piano praise, trumpet praise, metal praise, these days you can get instrumental praise albums in just about any style of music going! Punk praise must be on a release schedule somewhere. Ever since David's divine harp soothed Saul's sore spirit, there's been a rationale for this kind of stuff. Sadly, the Ambience series is nothing new. The only difference is that this time the Brits are outglossing the Yanks and getting in on the act! Walk into any Christian bookshop in Britain and you will find similar faceless instrumental tracks gently tinkering out of the sound system lulling you into buying the latest books. (Why are bookstore managers too afraid to play bouncy CCM in their shops? Answers on a postcard to me, c/o Cross Rhythms.) Excuse me while I dismount my hobbyhorse. For those who like Christian bookstore music, this album featuring the nimble guitar work of Albie Harrup might appeal. This UK origin album was originally released under the title 'Praise Him On The Guitar'.
