No one seems to enjoy recording Christmas albums like Amy as in the past she's clocked up three yuletide projects. In fact, if you have any of Amy's old seasonal albums you need to tread warily when approaching this set as it's mainly tracks compiled from 'A Christmas Album' (1983), 'Home For Christmas' (1992) and 'A Christmas To Remember' (1999). Although dished up with considerable schmaltz, oldies like "Grown Up Christmas List", "Breath Of Heaven" and "Tennessee Christmas" still retain considerable charm. For the serious Amy Grant fan, there are three new songs produced by Brown Bannister: "I Need A Silent Night" (co-written with Chris Eaton), a special cameo from daughter Corrina and "Baby It's Christmas", a song Grant co-wrote with country music star husband Vince Gill. Be warned though: her careering-tempoed version of "Jingle Bells" is, to put it mildly, an acquired taste.
