An album which, unfortunately, leaves one with a sense of "nearly, but not quite," Amy sings impressively, sounding distinctly black gospel on some cuts while the album is excellently produced. But most of the actual songs are rather ordinary. Of the exceptions, "Defenceless" grabs the attention as does "Wonder", which has already received a fair bit of radio airplay with UCB Cross Rhythms. The track which "'grows" on you most and I suspect will have the most lasting effect on the listener is the lovely "Underneath All The Stars", a song which also best shows the soft intimacy of Amy's voice, this being probably her greatest strength. Even with several replays, the rest fail to penetrate much further than skin deep and the album will most likely remain one for the fans as opposed to expanding her following.
