Any singer who's provided BVs for luminaries such as Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin as well as being a member of Richard Smallwood's celebrated Vision is bound to have an impressive set of chops. And certainly this diva from Washington DC has those. It's only surprising that it's taken so long for Andrea to cut her solo debut. It was worth the wait. Cut live at the Greater Mt Calvary Holy Church in DC the title track opener has the kind of high octane praise that's guaranteed to transform a gospel audience into a throng of worshippers. There's a veritable choir of female BVs on the mid-tempo "We Live To Worship", there's some tasty Hammond on the slow, jazzy "Heal The Land" and Marlon Correa adds his soulful tones on a dramatic "Hero". The radio single "Jesus" was written by Darius Palk who's penned songs for acts like Vashawn Mitchell and Marvin Sapp but to me it had a confused arrangement and lacked a strong enough hook. Overall, this is a reasonable set though lacking a killer song to make it onto gospel radio playlists.
