Floridian singer/songwriter Andrew Ehrenzeller's second album is his first on the Jesus Culture label and contains a wealth of self-penned songs that worship God at every turn. Utilising the production skills of Jeremy Edwardson and Jonathan Berlin, Ehrenzeller kicks things off in inventive fashion with the staccato "Cornerstone" before settling into more standard worship mode with the usual pounding drums, driving guitars and a general similarity between songs providing the backdrop to the man's gritty and impressive vocals for the first part of this release. Thankfully, proceedings seem to turn on a sixpence at the half way point with the stripped down tender song of admiration "Set My Love" effecting a mood change that makes this collection of songs come alive. Reflective numbers such as "Meet You There" and "Salvation" feel more heartfelt than the brasher earlier songs on account of a more considered musical approach whilst the epic "Farewell Babylon" - complete with hints of Peter Gabriel in his 1980s prime - is the undoubted highlight of this enjoyable release.
