Subtitled 'Songs, Stories And Prayers From Northumbria And The Holy Isle', this CD is mainly the work of singer/songwriter/guitarist Andrew Lobb, with assistance from Rev David Adam, well known author and minister of St Mary's Church, Lindisfarne, and Ray Simpson, author and guardian of the Community of St Aidan & St Hilda. Bearing in mind the credentials of the participants, you'd not expect Iona-style Celtic rock, quite the opposite - the music is just Andrew, his voice and his acoustic guitar. The prayers and meditational pieces hark back to the time in the seventh and eighth centuries when Aidan and Cuthbert walked the paths and shores of Northumbria, and the whole thing is worthy of your attention if your interest is in things appertaining to the Celtic tradition.
