Despite this album's title, Andy won't be a stranger if you're following the startling sales upsurgence of country music. Andy has written for hit artists like Sweethearts Of The Rodeo while her husband, Steve Buckingham, who produced this, has in the past produced Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ricky Van Shelton and Dolly Parton, the latter lady offering some delicious harmony on "Corner Of The World" here. There are plenty of other star quality guests helping out both country (Ricky Skaggs, Sweethearts Of The Rodeo), CCM (Twila Paris and Phillips, Craig And Dean) and even gospel (the Fairfield Four). But this is very much Andy's album, she can handle both the hoedown stompers and the tremulous ballads, every song full of faith and hope. A brilliant example of the new acoustic, country/pop sound that is topping the US pop charts these days and which will surely be breaking through the over-protective bastions of CCM resistance before long.
