Anita hails from Honolulu, Hawaii and most of this album has a sunny feel that suits its origins. She has shared the stage with the likes of Smokey Robinson, The Pointer Sisters and Sting. Anita's home church is 10,000 strong and she enjoys singing with the praise and worship team. Musically this album takes influences such as jazz and even country and goes from upbeat numbers to ballads and one of my first thoughts was that it reminded me of Point Of Grace. Anita's voice is class as she effortlessly goes from one style to another. However, despite the music being well played, I feel there is a huge blandness in the material. Anita's voice deserves better. I can honestly say that not one song made me want to go eagerly back to the replay button. I have to reserve special wrath for "Be The Light" which pretends to be a "poppy dance" number. I am not a huge fan of the aforementioned Point Of Grace but even I can see the gulf in class of the material written for them as opposed to Anita.
