Since his death in 2006, Burger has left a legacy of Christian piano albums which have found much favour with the Gaither's Homecoming Friends fans. This compilation contains recordings that have not been made available before. The keyboard maestro's rendition of Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life" is classic Burger, beautiful playing inspiring the listener to focus on God. The Irish hymn "Morning Has Broken" is another beautifully played piece. However, listening to the album as a whole, you get the impression that a number of the recordings here were not intended for release originally. The opening track for example, "Snowbird" (made famous by Anne Murray in the '70s), sounds uncomfortably more like Russ Conway than Anthony Burger while his take on "Green, Green Grass Of Home" sounds a little out of place amongst the majority of 'inspirational' tracks. Frankly, if you are looking for an introduction to this talented pianist, look at the numerous discs already available. For Burger completists only.
