A CD-release, this new team who've gigged with Eden Burning clearly mean business. After several plays I'm still not convinced that the band have developed a coherent style. The constant switching of lead singers (Vanessa Woodward, Roz Dent and Annie Tarassenko all take leads) blurs the focus while the switch from pop to roots to rock and back again sounds more like choosing material/direction by committee than natural eclecticism. There are some lovely ideas and playing here. Jane Baird's violin always grabs attention and particularly on the folkier parts a mood of Celtic tranquillity comes across. But the band need a producer to strip away some of the more meandering passages and get the band to fully develop their potential as songwriters and musicians
