I can report that the latest Audio Adrenaline album is all there and intact. Big blousy rock numbers with classic riffs and soulful vibes (“Worldwide”), tender ballads with a heartfelt call to come to Jesus (“Go And Be”) and a truly infectious call for us all to become engaged with God’s business and get our hands dirty (“Dirty”). Mark Stewart still has one of the most wheezingly distinctive voices in Christian rock while the production by Charlie Peacock (three tracks) and Jason Burkum (the remainder) have all the satisfying dynamics and sense of space which, coupled to those memorable hooks, make AA such a godsend for radio programme controllers. Few bands do the pop rock thing better than these guys and their message is still hearteningly direct.
