Back in 2013 Cross Rhythms was giving airplay to "Show Me Your Light" and "iLove" by this excellent band from Georgia. This 2017 mini-album shows that they have lost none of their eclectic panache. 'Mercy! Mercy!' opens with a bluegrass slide guitar and almost spoken vocals of the mini-track "He's My Bread" then moves into the more upbeat country title track. The more pop/rock orientated "23" rewrites Psalm 23 before there is a change of pace with the quirky blues "Buy Local" encouraging us to spend money locally to support the local community. "Slow Down" slows the pace even more with an almost folk roots sound entreating the listener to "slow down and live like there is all the time in the world" before upping the pace with a country rock romp in "Joker". "Miss You" is a heartfelt ballad exploring bereavement - more poignant as the band's keyboard player/backing vocalist recently went to be with the Lord. All in all, a listening pleasure.

I have followed these Cats along their journey of music, praising Yahweh and keeping the faith during some of the toughest times dealt to them. These are REAL people, full of love and eager to share it with their gift of music. So blessed to know each one of them and have the opportunity to be along for this beautiful ride.
