This is the fifth release from the worship resource arm of Austin Stone church in Texas, probably best known for being the home of Chris Tomlin. While Chris has moved on, the worship resources of the fellowship are still of the highest order. The opening "Redeemed To Redeem", with its strident guitar line and effective rap, sets the tone for the whole album. There are a total of 10 well written and produced worship songs plus an instrumental "Postlude" with some beautiful swirling strings to draw the album to a close. The songs are written by the worship pastor Aaron Ivey with contributions from the whole worship team, with the exception of the nice reworking of "Nothing But The Blood". The language can be a little "American church" and include thee and thou a few times, but no matter. 'King Of Love' may not push the boundaries of modern worship but there is still passion, authenticity and solid musicianship on display here.
