Having your apprenticeship with Gram Parsons' International Submarine Band and Emmylou Harris' Hot Band must be the perfect lift off for anyone starting out in acoustic country music. Not surprisingly Barry T emerged strong on harmony vocals and guitar finesse, allied to fine writing skills, all of which applies equally to wife Holly. This excellent set offers country rock 'n' roll such as "One More Chance" on which Dan Dugmore's dobro sounds sweet as can be. Leaning more towards honkytonk shuffle would be "House Of Cards" with exquisite Stuart Duncan fiddle, while something like "You're Seldom Seen" is pure acoustic country bliss. The songs have deeply felt lyrics and music, never syrupy but emotional, bluesy and poetic. A pleasure to listen in.
