Proving that not all the Christian music that comes out of Australia is Hillsongs-style praise and worship, Barry and his songwriting partners have turned out a pop/rock album that in parts reminds me of past rockers from Oz such as Chris Falson and Steve Grace, although on "Soar Like An Eagle" he comes over rather like Carman! There are one or two echoes of Stephen Bennett in "The Cross", and the title track is full of crunchy guitars and choppy riffs that wouldn't disgrace a David Evans album. This may sound as if I'm accusing Barry of being too derivative, but that's not my intention; there are enough numbers on the album where Barry is himself, and all the songs are designed to grab the listener and challenge him/her with Bible truth. An interesting offering that's worth a listen.
