After two highly acclaimed releases as well as a compilation album Beautiful Eulogy seem to have discovered a formula that can't really go wrong for them. Unfortunately, the Portland-based team are calling it a day. A stirring opening track for 'Worthy' complete with an organ-led instrumental makes way for a succinct piece prose on the album's topic of conversation - worship. "If" has a dramatic piano base line built steadily by home-made percussive sounds, top-lined by the urgent voices of Odd Thomas and Braille who eloquently examine what it means to give glory to God despite the circumstances. The chorus spoken in unison by all three band members, "It could mean everything, it could mean nothing/One word makes the difference," is a moment that harks back to the second track off their debut release 'Satellite Kite'. In other words, classic Beautiful Eulogy. The group once again invites several artists to add texture to their colourful palette with a standout collaboration from Citizens & Saints ("Messiah"). A Beautiful Eulogy album is not complete without speech from Art Azurdia and here the Oregon-based Trinity Church pastor exhorts us to grow in he knowledge of Jesus Christ through the reading of the Scriptures. Lyrically powerful and musically moving 'Worthy' is an uplifting album.
