The most remarkable thing about this six-track EP from the ferociously loud Beloved (Us) - but then I guess if you're from Seattle you have to be pretty loud, it's a tradition - is that all the songs were recorded live over two days in one take, due to a lack of record label and finance; the EP only cost $300 to put together. Re-mixed since then the results are still startling in their extraordinarily high quality, both in production and musicianship. There's an energy borne of sheer adrenaline which pumps through "Kiss It Goodbye" and "Going Through The Motions", and this never once relents through a commendably accomplished set, particularly in view of the shoestring budget.
