There's something rooted deep in the American psyche which comes to the surface whenever there's an opportunity to put children in a movie or on an album. For some reason, best known to their analysts, they like kids with simpering, cutesy voices. Listen to the lead vocals on the title song or the little darling lisping "Jesus In The Morning". No, on second thoughts, DON'T listen unless you have either an exceptionally strong stomach or you have the same unrealistic perspective of childhood which pervades America's Bible belt. The 20 songs on this cassette come duplicated on side two in Split-Trax to give you backing tapes and the material is largely ancient. The selling point of this new series is that each song comes with numbered diagrams indicating the actions your kids are to do. (According to the diagrams all actions are to be accompanied with broad grins.) If you're a Sunday school teacher desperate to find a resource to keep your little kiddywinkers busy you may be tempted to buy these but if, like me, you belong to a charismatic fellowship which regularly throws all taste out the window in the mistaken belief that the whole congregation doing the actions of kids songs is in some strange way good for spiritual development in adults, you will do everything you can to keep hidden the news of this series.
