Classic melodic rock music is (he dish of the day here with Bigtone's album built around the songwriting of singer/lead guitarist Tony Mullins. There are a few different influences thrown into the pot here with a bit of a Faces/Stones vibe to some of this ('What Went Wrong" / "If You Want") where the combination of Tony's loose guitar rifting and Jaggeresque vocal style pay tribute to those influences. And very enjoyable it is too, The funky rock of "Cool" allows the band to spread their wings and there's a pretty decent bass solo along the way. I really liked "Mercy" which takes snapshots of a woman's life and explores her faith. All in all, a bit old fashioned but then this stuff doesn't ever really go out of fashion, does it?
