Believe me, this really is classic 20th century repertoire that will last into long term hymnology. At last after a quarter of a century, this material is starting to get the limelight it deserves in the UK. Amazingly our UK songbook compilers still overlook this important hymnology because of their prejudice or their "song-publishing games". Be that as it may, this Cd is the best of revival Southern gospel, featuring the cream of the Gaither songbook. The repertoire programme is highly engaging with great songs of renown, too plentiful to mention. At times emotional sentimentality is very evident but it blends well with faith-building theology.

Long before the coin-phrased "Contemporary Christian Music" was ever heard in the 80's, Bible believing homes only ever knew "Gospel Music".
The Bill Gaither Trio was such a welcomed sound in any believers home, and their songs were sung and heard in countless churches.
I love how the classic "Because He Lives" starts this
wonderful, classic song set. A most well-beloved song! It is great to hear these old classics on cd
sound finally! The 1973 "Let's Just Praise the LORD",
is another church chorus song. The Heaven-sent
penned Doris Akers "Sweet, sweet, Spirit" just grabs hold. The Gaither's interpretation is so warm and inviting to the soul within. I cannot imagine this first
volume of songs without the top classic of all time,
"There's Something About That Name", so good to hear the voice of the late Danny Gaither in clear, crisp
sound; nearly 30 years ago first recorded (from the year of this cd release in April 2000). So glad that this set includes songs that Danny sings lead, "The
Way That He Loves Me".
I totally love "It is Finished" that befittingly closes this short, but 12 song set. Every song deserves a compliment. God Bless the Gaithers
We are so blessed by their music in this life!
