Normally I'd be asleep by the end of the first song on this sort of album but here I found myself being gently led into God's presence. Not bad for someone who like me has to reach for the insulin at the first sight of MOR sugar. In places this comes on a bit "sincere American" but there is no doubt that Bill has the songs and the heart to lead me to a place of intimacy. In listening to this over the past few days, that's what's happened! The songs are so gentle and sensitive I've found this has been great devotional music for my own times with God to worship along to. The songs are interspersed with occasional Scripture readings but what I liked best was the fact that this is a spacious album giving the listener plenty of room to breathe and respond to God. My favourites are the title song with its hunger for spiritual things as well as the brilliant "Be Magnified" which challenged my own view of God. There's a gorgeous version of "Be Thou My Vision" with harp and Irish pipe as well as a sweep for intimate worship songs to propel you gently into the presence of God at the end of the album. Lovely!
