The latest set from the Canadian country man has a very unusual and original introduction as the singer recounts his Russian origin and reprises "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" partly in Russian! The remaining 10 tracks of this album include several original compositions. Billy has a warm and pleasant voice especially suited to laid back country music reminiscent of Don Williams and Kenny Rogers at their best. There is not a duff song or note on any of these fine songs and I particularly enjoyed "Jesus Is", the very catchy "Blue Water Sailor" and the very evangelistic "I Believe In An Old Fashioned Jesus". The backing is exemplary modern country with plenty of steel guitar and fiddle to accompany Billy's guitar playing. The whole package makes for a pleasant listening experience and I always believe the true test of any review is would the reviewer go out and buy this? To which my answer is an unequivocal yes!
