Before 'He-Motions' arrived for review, I had previously only encountered the books of Bishop TD Jakes as I browsed the shelves of the local Christian bookshop. His victoriously-titled Woman, Thou Art Loosed! (which also spawned a companion CD) suggested an imposing larger-than-life persona behind the teaching. Some elements of the 'He-Motions' soundtrack certainly support this notion: for example the Bishop comes over all Barry White as an additional narrative voice on a number of tracks, especially "Intro"; he chooses to share some minutes of a sermon about the importance of fathers mid-way through the disc; his sleevenotes declare his belief that "this ministry will be a life saver to families, marriages and men." So it's a relief that the US gospel headliners joining Jakes here (the likes of Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and Da'dra Crawford-Greathouse) don't languish in his substantial shadow but make memorable impressions across a range of excellent offerings, albeit ones which play to their relative strengths. The most heavily-showcased artist alongside Jakes is (as the business-like Bishop introduces him in the notes "our new Dexterity artist") Micah Stampley, who holds his own amongst such celebrated colleagues. The individual tracks are thematically linked but never overwhelmed by the themes of Jakes' writing, and stylistically there is probably something here for every gospel fan. These songs of love, commitment, resilience and determination are recommended for the Christian father/brother/husband/son in your life.

WOW!! What can I say! My husband and I just finished watching your surmon and I would like to thank you. Thank you for stepping outside of "the comfort zone" and telling it like it is!
I am ready for a change, and I just pray that this surmon continues to bless others.

*when no one else hears our cries.... the Lord does!
Thank you Jesus!

I HAVE RECENTLY DEVELOPED A REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD. GOD HAS DONE MANY THINGS INCLUDING ANSWERED MY PRAYERS, MY QUESTIONS AND HAS DIRECTED ME THROUGH BISHOP JAKES. HE IS A REAL MAN OF GOD THAT CAN BE RELATED TO BECAUSE HE'S HUNBLE ENOUGH TO TALK ABOUT HIS STRUGGLES, TRIALS AND HIS SHORTCOMINGS. I HAVE ASKED GOD TO ANNOINT ME IN A SIMILIAR FASHION, BECAUSE IT IS SOOO IMPORTANT TO MEET PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE SO THAT THEY CAN REALLY SEE JESUS. THROUGH THE STUDY OF GODS WORD AND THE BISHOP'S PREACHING AND TEACHING I AM SO EMPOWERED!

PLEASE THANK HIM FOR ME.
IN JESUS NAME!

TERRY

Bishop T.D.Jakes is one M.O.G.(man of God) that I respect and cherish so much, and I hold in high esteem. Currently I'm listening to one of his messages titled "The Bad Boys and The God Who Loves Them". He's so inspiring , He's one of my Role Models, in short he is too much. My prayer for him is that may the Good LORD continue to Guide ,Protect, Bless, Direct and Honour His words in his life even as he continues to do the work of the Gospel (LORD) Amen !

Also , Could you kindly let me know the lyrics of all the songs in the He-Motion Album.
Thank You.

...I don't know if this message will ever reach Bishop Jakes and I'm sure he's heard this a million times. Bishop Jakes is soooo AMAZING, it's as though he can see my "soul" and he knows what I'm feeling and thinking.
It knocks me off my feet everytime there's an issue I maybe dealing with and I talk to the Lord about it and I sit down and turn on the tv and Bishop Jakes is addressing the same issue. But Obviously it's God whose sending the messages through B. Jakes.
I will continue to enjoy his sermons.
If you see him tell him thank you for me
thank you.
Pamela
