We've had Morris Chapman and Terry Clark in this series already, so now it's time for Bob Fitts. Before the cries of "Bob who?" deafen me, let me remind you Mr Fitts has written a half dozen popular choruses you'll find in any praise songbook worthy of the name. The songs are good (yet another example of Mr Kendricks inroads into the US market with a couple of his songs here), Bob has a pleasant if rather colourless voice and the Maranatha singers do their usual faultless unison and harmony backups. If you're after live atmosphere worship this is an adequate album.

The review by Mr Cummings appears to be an example of English nationalism being allowed to becloud one's Christian virtue. That Mr. Kendrick has to receive more praise than Bob Fitts in an album that bears Bob Fitts' name, was released in 1991, and still retails for more than $100 on underscores this point. This album is unarguably one of the most inspiring recordings in Christian music ever - as its Amazon price would suggest. Descriptions such as "a pleasant if rather colourless voice" and "adequate album" don't do justice to this wonderful recording.

I think Mr Cummings did not do justice in his review of one of the greatest worshippers of our time

The album you may be referring to is a Live Worship album by Integrity Music called "The Lord Reigns". It was done on the Big Island in Hawaii around 1990 or 91. Even finding the cassette is difficult and I'm not sure if it was ever on CD. It is by far THE BEST Worship album ever!(in my opinion). Bob Fitts is dear to my heart because he used to come to our church (Calvary Chapel 1989 and early 1990's) in Honolulu and lead our worship services. The annointing of God was so overwhelming!!

I really grew up in Africa listening to gospel songs but the album that really burnt it self in my heart was Live worship with Bob Fitts and the Maranatha singers. Any one with the album in london please contact me.
