Canadian-born Brenda offers her first solo album here though her voice is not unfamiliar to the Christian audience having been heard on the duet "The River" with Brian Doerkson on the 'Today' album. Janz' voice immediately grabs the attention and refuses to let go for 12 spellbinding tracks. Her voice has a clarity rarely heard and a tonal flexibility from the gentlest ballad to the most energetic country-esque track. From start to finish, the singer takes us on a journey through the ups and downs of life and whether singing the autobiographical "Mama's Prayer", the duet with Andy Park "I Want To Serve You" or the version of "The Old Rugged Cross" blended with her composition "To The Cross Of Jesus" this is the work of a mature talent. Brenda's husband, Philip Janz, is an accomplished producer who has done a commendable job in keeping the arrangements satisfyingly organic.
