A USA-based worship leader's collection of songs. The marketing blurb insinuates a gritty and edgy realism mixed carefully with holy romance and honesty, the words from a man who's faced problems that could have easily overwhelmed bar the hope of faith. The photos suggest something a little gentler, polished and family friendly. In the end it's the CD cover that captures the mood; this is unobtrusive, Curtis-Chapman-lite fare. Personal testimony comes across in "I Know Who I Am" and "Wait For Me"; more general truths are shared in "First Love" and "Eloi, Eloi". Don't let the track titles "Wild Side Of Grace", "Prisoner" or "Step Outside The Lines" give you the wrong impression, this is very much the sort of gentle, light worship your mum would approve of. Very much un-wild and within the lines, but the voice is tuneful and the melodies plentiful.
