When you weigh in with your debut CCM album after a mainstream pop career which has seen 75 million sales there are understandably high expectations. As it turns out, this slickly produced project from the Backstreet Boy is exactly the kind of inspiring pop that we could have expected. The album features production by Dan Mukala (Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore), Mark Kibble and Dave Thomas (Take 6, Mariah Carey) and Billy Mann (Jessica Simpson, Ricky Martin) and at times sounds like a hybrid of Michael W Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman. That's not to say that there aren't some engaging moments; the jangling mid tempo pop rock of "I Am Alive", the wistful acoustic guitar lilt of "Over My Head" and the full on gospel flavour of "We Lift You Up" are decidedly listenable. No one could claim this to be the most original Christian music debut of the year but considering Brian's background and transparently vibrant faith, it seems bound to be a huge seller.

I happened to be watching ccm videos one morning, and lo and behold I see a new video by this former Backstreet guy. I just loved the song "Welcome Home You"; what a song to initiate Brian's solo career! His voice is a warm welcome into the ccm genre. I played this whole cd when I got it; I luv every song on this cd! Great recording Brian, way to go!! Every song on the cd is worth the listening time & pleasure. It is difficult to zero in on top favorites, I luv all the songs!! Every song is well crafted, Brian's vocals shine!! I hope this cd is not the last solo effort that Brian puts forth; let's hear more from you Brian!!
GOD Bless! -Don

I saw Brian's picture on the cover of the cd at Upper Room Bookstore and couldn't believe it when I saw that it was him. Of course I had to buy it even though I hadn't heard anything from him since his stint with BSB.

I absolutely LOVE this album. Unlike other gospel cds I've bought, this one makes me feel so whole!

I really like how he's straight up too with the lyrics and by singing what he knows about; his faith in God, his family and the journey he has travelled in life!

Keep it up Brian!! You always were my favourite!

My album arrived a few weeks ago, it's a great album which is a lot different than the Backstreet Boys stuff but not losing any part of what Brian stands for. Being a Backstreet Boys fan, I know just how much this album means to Brian and I have to say it definately shows from the care, attention and love he has shown through the music and lyrics within the album.

I bought the album off cross rhythms a few weeks ago, and am really enjoying listening to it. I think the mix of pop, country and gospel really works well, and it is one of the best Christian albums I have listened to. And as a devoted backstreet boys fan, find this album so much better than all their stuff.
