Another band contending for the No1 slot on the Christian hard rock scene! Musically extremely versatile, here the group is in its heavy metal mode, brought bang up to date with industrial remixes of three tracks ("Psychedelic Super Jesus", "Time" and "Hired Gun"). Unlike many compilation albums, this one contains enough new material to make it worth considering for fans whose shelves are already groaning under the weight of previous releases, and it is the sort of all-hits album you can sit down and listen to right through without getting musical indigestion. For newcomers to this group, well. If you're open to music and lyrics that pull no punches, you have a real treat in store. Until I heard Dale Thompson, I thought it was only Mongolian tribesmen who went in for throat-singing ( a vocalist producing chords - don't try to imitate: it can be seriously bad news for the singer's health, though seriously exiting for the listener). A bonus is that the disc actually contains 12 tracks: "Hired Gun" works well with its industrial facelift; but for those of us who prefer to hear the detail of the blues-soaked guitar and vocal work, there is, after a short pause, an acoustic version too. Don't be too quick to take the disc out of your CD player when you think you've come to the end!
