This album starts with the hubbub before the live performance and an introduction to the choir. Then Pam Pettway sets the album up the way that they mean to go on, by singing powerfully with feeling, backed up by the 250 strong choir. “This Is Your House”, the title track, is a worshipful dedication of the Tabernacle. A couple of tracks are inspirational testimonies. Danny Velasco (former make-up artist) and Susan Greaves tell the stories of how Jesus spoke to them through members of the choir at the Tabernacle. There is a whole range of styles on the album from plain gospel through to the funky “Keep On Making A Way” and to choral worship, “Holy Are You Lord”, and pure instrumental of “Holy, Holy, Holy” taking you out of the first CD. The second CD continues in the same vein though this time the songs have more of a response message. “Because Of Who You Are”, “I’m Going With Jesus” and including the congregation on “You Are Holy”. The album rounds off with Robin Mark’s “Days Of Elijah” sung and then powerfully read. There is such a mix of different styles, which make this album a joy to listen to. Even if you aren’t a great fan of the veteran choir, this is surely their best for years.
