I'll never understand the record company mind. Take Warner Alliance, a Christian label with all the Big Buck prestige of being linked to a major. Earlier this year they drop undeniable talents like Margaret Bell and Marilyn McCoo from their roster. Then they release this thorough undistinguished album by the choir who's made half a dozen dull albums for Word without showing any great spark of greatness. I suppose Warner's thought they could find a niche for a multi-racial choir whose sound is halfway between a call-and-response black church rave up and a more pedestrian white praise and worship choir. But for me this is a substandard album which even with half a dozen lead vocalists straining hard to show 'the anointing', remains limply unconvincing.
