Young Mr Collins has an awful lot going for him. A multi-instrumentalist (from piano to trumpet via oboe and accordion), the Nashville-based singer/songwriter from Twin Falls, Idaho has written, arranged and produced this critically acclaimed project. He has a voice that, on occasions, sounds uncannily like the CCM superstar, Michael W Smith while these 10 songs (with a closing instrumental - "Wheeldon") demonstrate the rich variety of his repertoire. Caleb's favourite composer is Tchaikovsky and the Russian genius has clearly influenced the lush orchestration of several of the songs here. Elsewhere, the catchy "Fall Into A Dream" has a memorable melody and the lyrics some wonderful images. These are songs of strong faith and of tender compassion ("Sweet Child Of Mine" with Collins' swirling Hammond B-3 to the fore is a great example). What comes over on 'Dream' are songs that convey a deep and positive trust in God. An album well worth tracking down.
