Winging its way from across the pond, Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa in California to be precise, 'Anchored Deep' is a collection of 10 new songs of worship from the pens of Scott Cunningham, Lindsay Skaar, Joseph Tata and Robert Easley lead by the writers themselves. Recorded live with a bit of after the event overdubbing, this is very much in the contemporary worship vein with steady guitar-driven rhythms and the skilled musicianship we have come to expect from this scene. The opening tracks "Be Free To Reign" and the title track set the album off on a good foot but, due to a similarity between the songs and the fact that the average length of each song is five minutes, proceedings seem to run out of steam as the set progresses. The lyrical content of 'Anchored Deep' however is pure and utter devotion to Jesus and will challenge and speak to the hearts of those listening.

I 'happened to be' at a church where Scott Cunningham was leading worship that Sunday. I HAD to get the CD because this music touched me so deep. That was at least 4 years ago and this is still one of my favorite CD's. I have listened to it on average twice a week. It is very good.
