A German band with a nice line in Radiohead-tinged art rock through their lyrics, possibly because their lyric writer leans towards the poetically oblique, take some getting into. Here's a sample, "All the small things pass away/All the big things survive a day/So you're neither big or small/You're the maker of it all." The songs seem to be about idolatry, searching for meaning, belonging, love and longing. There are questions about life and faith, which seem to end with hints of God, rather than an openly expressed confidence about God's revelation. "There is no holy ground/Those who seek will find their way/Giving sense to what happened/Out on calvary." Musically I really like it, in the same vein as Radiohead/Eels - heavy guitar sound interspersed with quieter passages. It would be interesting to know more about the band and what kind of following they have. If your into the aforementioned outfits it might be worth seeking it out.
