Canadian worship outfit Capstone have only been around a short while but already they are making a huge splash and finding some major players sniffing around interested in snapping them up. Listening to this debut CD, it isn't hard to see why and I predict you are going to be hearing a great deal more from them. Capstone are an excellent worship band and halfway through my first listen of this album, its sheer beauty stopped me in my tracks and ministered to me. The song was the slowburning "Better" thanking God for his faithfulness and the changes he has brought. Other favourites include the upbeat "Proclaim" which sounds like something Darrell Evans could have written and the simple poppy "You Are My Rock" which celebrates the steadfast nature of God. "I Will Worship" is an abandoned, psalmlike, dreamy piece of worship that allows you to drift in God's presence. There is an innocent simplicity on this album which comes when there are no corporate concerns, just a purity in writing and worshipping God. A delicious album.
