I think it was half way through the "Holy Hokey" (a grizzly new words-version of the "Hokey Cokey") that I could stand it no longer and rushed from the room to put my head down the toilet bowl. I exaggerate? Only a trifle. Recently, some children's albums eminating from our American cousins have taken a hammering in CR. This release proves us Brits can induce the cringe-factor just as effectively. Here we have Captain Alan and his ragged voiced crew of kiddywinkers making me and my children cringe plenty. I know this review is likely to induce angry letters pointing out that Captain Alan Price has been giving years of sterling children's work with the Church Army. But the music here is banal, the singing poor and the arrangements (despite the presence of usual reliables like Tim Jupp) unimaginative. Coming from the company who recently released the superlative Sammy Horner album, this is a huge disappointment.
