“My friend Mick/He’s a psychopath/And he’s going to eat your brains/And you’ll laugh while he’s doing it” is the jolly chorus to [Careless]’ latest EP. No doubt my receptivity to post modern irony is lacking so I’ll pass no further comment on the lyric of the “Doctor Mick” opener. This Southampton-based band, much loved in clubland, have been on the verge of the Big Time and they have in James Liskutin an exceptional lead singer while the bombastic modern punk rhythms are satisfyingly ferocious. Better than most Tooth & Nail bands.
