Nashville-based harp player Carol has found a real niche market for herself turning out a stream of albums featuring solo harp renditions of well known choruses and hymns. What could be akin to Christian muzak in the hands of a lesser musician are saved from such criticism by the unerring delicacy of Carol’s playing. Gentle run throughs of Twila Paris’ “How Beautiful”, Andrae Crouch’s “Bless His Holy Name” and, of course, the old Kendrick classic as well as a bunch of hymns plucked from American hymnals are on offer here. Tranquil music indeed.
