There is no shortage these days of contemporary worship albums being churned out on a regular basis, so it is a very refreshing thing when one finds a relatively new artist, come-worship movement that is the North Point Music, which shows a lot of promising potential. The opening track "Marvelous" gets this CD off to a great start, with a very catchy chorus line. Fourth track in, "Over And Over", speaks of how God proves his faithfulness to us again and again and is also a very catchy tune, but the standout track for this reviewer is "I Will Stand By You" with its open-hearted lyrics reassuring the listener that though they have a broken heart, the Church, ie, Christians, would be there to "walk this broken road together"; encouraging, uplifting, upbeat and triumphant! Speaking of triumphant, "We Believe" is a lively, bold declaration of faith. The memorable, fast-paced "When You Smile" could well receive some radio airplay, though it's not really one for the church pew, written as it was for Casey's wife. There are several songs on this album which could technically crossover to Sunday morning church services, provided the church in question has a good worship band to help carry the tunes, though how well they can be sung in a smaller setting, I'm not sure. . . However, one song which should have no problems is the beautiful, slow modern hymn-like "Let My Soul Sing" whose melodic chorus line invokes the listener to want to sing along. All in all, this is a very good album excellently produced by Ian Eskelin.
