It does seem somewhat premature to issue a live disc of previously released studio tracks when you only have one album to your name, but such is the popularity of this band that management knew it couldn't fail to sell! Casting Crowns are of course THE American worship success of 2004 - joining the plethora of groups that side of the ocean who are in full time worship music ministry. This six-song disc takes the finest songs from the debut - with added live atmosphere. It starts with the opening challenge of "If We Are The Body" ("Why are his hands not reaching...."). Potent stuff. "Who Am I" begins delicately then builds up into a wonderful crescendo, while the pulsating beat of the thoughtful "American Dream" demands that you pay attention. Solid music with an original sound that doesn't give the impression that they're merely jumping on the fast-rolling bandwagon. Lyrics are meaningful and non-cliched (though it's a pity they don't appear on the inserts). The closing bonus is a fine version of Townend's "Beautiful Saviour", although it's a shame they didn't add a newie of their own. The accompanying DVD provides video footage of "American Dream", individual interviews with each member, a song-by-song analysis and various other bits'n'bobs. A fine though unnecessary package - what we really need is something totally fresh from the band.

This is a great buy with a DVD included in the price, with
the band singing live and also showing the American dream
video with the lead singer Mark Hall looking very much like
George Michael at times as he walks along the street,
The DVD is a must watch for a great insight to the story
both behind the band and also lead singer Mark Halls journey
with God which I found to be of great encouragement. It gets
10 out of 10 in my book.
