This album showcases the talents of three local worship leaders at Grace Church in Chichester. Cathy Burton needs no introduction, and is clearly the star of the show. Martin Cooper is a guitar teacher and has collaborated on several independent releases previously. And this would appear to be Jo Petch's debut release (despite Google, no extra information could be found). So Cathy is the hook to grab your attention and performs four of her own songs, including the opener "Great Is Our God" and the delightful "Choose A Hallelujah". Martin and Jo are less interesting singers, but just as good as writers: Jo's "Great And Glorious", in a Keane style, is one of the most memorable songs in the set with an anthemic refrain; while Cooper's (no relation of this reviewer) "You Are The Lord" is more epic and uplifting, sounding comparable to Athlete. The production is straight forward and the band are solid and steady rather than flashy or experimental, though their dynamics are rather flat and the unchanging sounds of guitar, bass and drums start to get tiring in the latter half of the album. Buy this for the songs and for Cathy's charming and individual vocal style.
