Misty lochs, heather-strewn glens and the crisp green grass of ancient Celtic islands battered by the weather of a thousand years...I do love to dream. And what a dream this is! In it, I imagine Iona's Troy Donockley and Terl Bryant are playing to soothe my soul, Troy on the Uillean pipes and Terl on the bodhran. I see them gently ease their way through the classic tune "The King Of Love" before nearly rousing me from my dream with the vibrant "Sing To The Lord (Awaken The Dawn)". I'm just in the mood for a jig as Terl brings out his bodhran on "O Come And Join The Dance" and Troy pulls out his low whistle. I'm lying on the purple moor, listening to the exquisite musicianship of the Iona guys, when Dave Fitzgerald puts in an appearance. Never in my wildest dreams... This is a class production from some of Britain's top musicians who lead the way in the surge of Celtic music that more and more bands are now discovering. If you like your meditation to be soulful, enigmatic and ever-so-atmospheric, this can't fail to please. Free from the naffness that so many instrumental albums are guilty of this one will help you relax and drift away. A seriously classy yet simple dreamy sound from some of the best musicians in the field.
