John Mongan formed Centred in 2003 with a clear aim "to promote Christ through lyrics and sounds that are relevant to young people today". As a band they hold worship and other events at and around their home church in Brighton, City Coast Church. This album was produced by Australian Nathan Ironside and you cannot escape from the inevitable comparison of the band's pop rock worship style to Hillsong United and Planetshakers. That said, there is in parts a real freshness which kept you wanting to play more. Highlights include the rocky "Shine" and the Psalm 24-inspired "Clean Hands". This is the group's second album, with a third on its way. It will be interesting to see if they can evolve into more of their own sound and style next time.
