The last few times I have heard Charlie in concert he has sung a medley of Beatles songs. So it's not altogether surprising that the MOR country veteran should now offer a whole album of songs by his fellow Liverpudlians. So here we have Charlie's take on Beatles evergreens like "The Long And Winding Road" and "And I Love Her", some compressed into medleys and one or two lesser known songs like "Crippled Inside". The renditions here actually have quite a country feel with some prominent steel guitar backing up Charlie's warm vocals. John Lennon's "Imagine" is rather a surprise inclusion considering Charlie's faith and the song's lack of the same but we'll let that pass. Charlie's rich voice is like a good wine and ages well and though hardcore Beatles enthusiasts won't be too impressed with this set, there'll be plenty of Landsborough fans willing to give this a go.
